'Where's the president? There's something I need to tell him': Mbeki says at chaotic NEC meeting quickly adjourned

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s absence from the special ANC national executive committee (NEC) meeting on Friday was met with fierce opposition by some members with former president Thabo Mbeki leading the charge in calling him out.

Sources at the meeting told News24 that Mbeki stood up and asked where Ramaphosa was at a critical meeting on Friday called to discuss the Section 89 independent panel report that made damning findings against Ramaphosa in relation to the theft at his Phala Phala farm.
