A promise of cheap booze lured patrons to the popular nightclub, Tin Roof, in Cape Town’s southern suburb of Claremont last weekend.

R10 for a shot of sours, 2-for-1 specials from 18:00 and a vodka drink for R20, Tin Roof advertised on its Facebook and Instagram pages on 30 September.

Now, at least 47 high school pupils from seven well known southern suburb schools have tested positive for Covid-19 following a party at Tin Roof on 3 October.
