South Africa faces a high risk of a third Covid-19 resurgence by May to June this year if rapid immunisation of a significant number of the population does not happen, says Wits professor of vaccinology, Shabir Madhi, during a webinar hosted by the Excel Academy on Wednesday.
While Madhi acknowledged that a certain number of vaccines were expected to become available in February for healthcare workers, he's not too optimistic about population immunity being reached very soon.
