Axed Eskom procurement boss Solly Tshitangano's allegations of racism against the power utility's CEO, André de Ruyter, were "wrong, egregious, false, baseless and lacking any substantiation", an independent investigation has found.  In what is being described as a "startling" about-turn, Tshitangano has now denied accusing De Ruyter of racism after his widely publicised allegations that the CEO was targeting black-owned suppliers.

De Ruyter has been cleared of wrongdoing by advocate Ishmael Semenya, who was mandated to conduct an independent investigation into Tshitangano's allegations, contained in letters sent to Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan, the Presidency and Parliament.
