War drums beat on the horizon for embattled national police commissioner Khehla Sitole, who, in a bid to overturn a searing court ruling which calls his integrity into question, is taking his fight to the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA).

In January, Pretoria High Court Judge Norman Davis found that Sitole – along with deputy national commissioners Francinah Vuma and Leonard Tsumane – had fallen foul of their duties as police officers by effectively blocking a string of corruption investigations, spearheaded by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
