Out of Order/News24

News24's Out of Order Index raises serious concern over the quality of data submitted by municipalities to government institutions that seems to be improbable or simply missing.

The Out of Order Index, which studied 257 municipalities across South Africa, found they seemingly inflated figures while others provided no data on service delivery and financial health.

This can impact South Africans on the ground, as national and local governments use these statistics to determine budgetary needs and service priorities.
