'Spurious, defamatory' – Eskom's De Ruyter hits back over claims of abuse and racism

Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter has hit back at allegations of racism and abuse of power, levelled at him by suspended chief procurement officer Solly Tshitangano, in an explosive 53-page affidavit forwarded to Parliament this week.  

According to De Ruyter’s affidavit, which was deposed on Monday and has been sent to Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa), Tshitangano only raised the allegations against him after discussions around his alleged poor performance were raised
