Beware of criminals knocking on your door, only to rob you

Harare police are warning residents to be on the lookout for house robbers with a new strategy.

According to SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Siyabulela Vukubi the culprits have been using the same motive to rob homes in the Harare policing precinct.

“In most cases reported, suspects were pretending to be selling or enquiring about something.

Afterwards they would produce a firearm and rob the occupants of their belongings and household property. A Coloured male has been identified as the mastermind behind these robberies,” he said.

He warned residents to be more vigilant and report any suspicious persons around their residential areas and are urged to be on the look- out for the coloured male and immediately report to the police.

.Meanwhile, Khayelitsha police have arrest 95 suspects for crimes which include murder, burglary, robberies, possession of drugs, dealing in liquor, possession of dangerous weapon, drunken driving and possession of ammunition.

The suspects appeared the Khayelitsha court on Monday 30 May 2016.
