ONE of the most wanted alleged drug dealers was arrested in Riet River, Verulam on Monday, October 9.
The Verulam SAPS crime prevention task team were acting on information received about drugs being sold in a house believed to be a drug den in the area.
According to the police reports the public had lodged a complaint with the police about a man selling drugs in the area.
Tongaat SAPS Police spokesperson Captain Henry Kisten said: “When police arrived at the house they searched the premises and the suspect. Ten pieces of rock cocaine and four ecstasy tablets were found. He was arrested and charged with possession of drugs. This was said to be a notorious drug den in the area. There has been an outcry from the public about it.”
The suspect was detained at the Verulam SAPS and will appear at Verulam Magistrate’s Court soon.
Station commander Brigadier Victor Dludla commended the members on a job well done.
Dludla advised the community to come forward with information that may help the police make more arrests. - Supplied.
