World Food Day is observed on Saturday (16/10) with the theme “Our Actions are our Future”.

The initiative motivates communities across the world to collect food in aid of those in need. In support of this, the volunteer movement Rise Against Hunger (RAH) has challenged chefs from seven Sun International properties to create two dishes using the same basic ingredients that RAH supplies to school feeding schemes.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, chefs and their teams were filmed creating the dishes in their kitchen.

The Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein’s slogan for World Food Day is “To Save the Nation from Hunger by Giving Back”.

Vote for your favourite dish on rahafrica.org under “Chef Showdown” by Friday. The South African Chefs Association will do the final judging.
