The Grade 8 class from Hermannsburg School went on their bonding camp this weekend to ‘The Farm’ in Fairbreeze, at uMgungundlovu, where they experienced sleeping in large tepees.
They participated in numerous activities that were designed to help them to work together as a team, all the while also getting to know each other. They built rafts, swam in the Amatikulu Lagoon and the pool near the campsite - which was a welcome cooling-off period after hikes and activities around the farm.
Deputy principal Lothar Witthöft said in a statement: “Numerous skills were learnt, especially having to cook one’s own meal for the first time. The class bonded well together and the camp was a fitting end to their Grade 8 orientation week.
