Branches of the SA Post Office in KwaZulu-Natal have seen an increase in vehicle licence disks they cannot print, as the vehicle owner failed to change his or her address and register the vehicle with the local authority where they currently live.
Motor vehicle owners who move to a different municipality must register their vehicles with the municipality at their new address. If they fail to do this, their local post office will not be able to renew and print the disk.
SA Post Office said in a statement: “An example would be a customer who owns two vehicles living in Richards Bay with one vehicle registered in Richards Bay and the other registered in Nongoma.
