MSUNDUZI Municipality is being accused of turning a blind eye to stinking toilets, damaged traffic lights and broken pavements in Pietermaritzburg’s central business district.
Ursula Brown, who has been working in the tourism business since 1997, contacted The Witness to say she was “horrified at the absolute state of apathy, appalling short-sightedness, and a never-ending ‘not in my department’ song of woe, across the board in Pietermaritzburg”.
Her comments follow visits to the public toilets behind Publicity House in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, and those at the taxi rank opposite the AS Chetty and Natalia buildings in Langalibalele Street.
