Two women — aged 75 and 49 — were gunned down inside their home at Imbali Unit 14, Pietermaritzburg, last Thursday afternoon.

Police said it is alleged that two unknown armed men forcefully entered the house by breaking the door down just after 7.30 pm.

uMgungundlovu District police spokesperson Captain Kholeka Mhlongo said that the two women were killed in full view of three young people — aged 24, 16, and four — in the house at the time.
