
Johannesburg - Seventeen people sustained minor to critical injuries when a taxi they were travelling in crashed into the Mvoti Toll Plaza on the N2 in KwaZulu-Natal, paramedics said on Friday.
ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the driver had crashed into the concrete barriers at the toll plaza close to KwaDukuza on Friday evening.
"ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the area in chaos. The taxi, found at one of the toll booths, was badly damaged."
All occupants were treated on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals. Their injuries varied from minor to critical, Bodasing said.
