The staple of a good, believable but ultimately false prophet, is a mixture of deceit, manipulation, and the show of power with a decent measure of witchcraft or voodoo thrown in.

All of this for fame, fortune, and power, according to two former "church leaders" who have conceded that that were in fact cult leaders.
