An eThekwini branch wants Zandile Gumede as chair, despite step-aside rule

The leadership at an eThekwini branch has nominated contentious politician, Zandile Gumede, as their preferred chairperson.

They say, even if she has to step aside, they still want to elect her.

"There is no better candidate right now who will take the region to the next level, it is only her. If you pit her against others, you are wasting your time. They are no way near her calibre in understanding the politics of the region," said Ntando Khuzwayo, ward 28 deputy chairperson of the ANC's OR Tambo branch.
