Just as the ANC defended former president Jacob Zuma in the dying days of his presidency, ANC lawmakers again stood battle ready to shield President Cyril Ramaphosa from the Phala Phala scandal.

Ramaphosa has been under pressure to respond to the matter, and it was clear from the onset that opposition MPs were not letting him off the hook.

The chaos during Tuesday’s question-and-answer in the National Assembly was reminiscent of the days when ANC MPs defended Zuma against the onslaughts from the opposition MPs, especially the EFF.
