The ANC's national executive committee (NEC) took charge of preparations for the 60th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of its former armed wing, uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK), amid persisting differences between its veterans.

MK Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) leader, Kebby Maphatsoe, told News24 the body had already written to the ANC leadership last month to say it was busy organising an event.
