January 2020 was a month of sorrow and probably one which the Gauteng Department Education (GDE) will not easily forget after two drowning incidents resulted in the deaths of two 13-year-old boys.

Lessons have been learned.

Keamohetswe Shaun Seboko, a Grade 7 pupil at Laerskool Bekker in Magaliesburg, drowned at the school's hostel swimming pool on 15 January.
