Western Cape taxi operators have been warned that if the violence over routes continued, all affected routes would be closed, not just the B97 between Paarl and Cape Town.

"Should there be further acts of violence, all affected routes operated by the two associations will be closed for all minibus-taxi operations for a period determined by the MEC and affected operating licences will be suspended," said a statement by the Department of Transport.
