The EFF has reiterated its call for the local elections to be postponed. This time around, the party has suggested that the elections be moved to 2024 into a single voting event which would include, local, provincial and national elections.

The red berets said they would continue calling for elections to be postponed amid rising Covid-19 infections during the third wave of the pandemic and because there were persisting issues surrounding restrictions on campaigning.

EFF leader Julius Malema addressed the issue during a press briefing at the party's headquarters in Johannesburg on Thursday.
