The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) says that it is disappointed to learn of the withdrawal of rape cases reported in the Eastern Cape.
"There is not much that we can do on the withdrawal of cases by complaints.
"The CGE has made contacts with the ladies who withdrew the cases. One has indicated she has just gotten married and wishes to leave everything behind. The other has withdrawn, but the office of NDPP has to make that determination," spokesperson Javu Baloyi told News24 on Monday.
