Former Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku's review application of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) findings was not about being reappointed, according to his legal team.
"The MEC role is the prerogative of the premier. He [Masuku] has accepted that. This situation is not about the reappointment as MEC [of health]," lawyer Mojalefa Motalane told News24 on Thursday afternoon.
Motalane was speaking to News24 shortly after Masuku's challenge against the SIU findings was heard virtually in the North Gauteng High Court on Thursday.
