Covid-19: Admissions spike and hospitals under pressure - why third wave might be worst yet

A health expert has warned that with rapidly increasing new cases, hospitalisations and the cold weather, the third wave might be worse than the first two waves. 

According to the latest reported numbers, in Gauteng, 2 983 people are currently in private hospitals fighting Covid-19. Of those, 859 people are in ICU, 164 in high care, and 1 960 people are in general wards.
