  • The province has recorded 266 new Covid-19 infections bringing the total recorded cases to 17 604.
  • It had captured 11 new Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 59.
  • The Bojanala District has the highest number of 10 568 cases.

The North West province has recorded 266 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 17 604.

This is according to statistics provided by the North West Department of Health as of Monday 27 July, at 21:00.

Of the 17 604 cases in the province, the majority (10 568) are in the Bojanala District, which consists of Rustenburg, Madibeng, Moses Kotane, Moretele and Kgetleng.

Bojanala district breakdown:

Rustenburg: 8 104

Madibeng: 1 281

Moses Kotane: 989

Moretele: 79

Kgetleng: 115

Total: 10 568

This is followed by the Kenneth Kaunda District with 4 495 cases, Ngaka Modiri Molema District with 1 845, and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District with 585.

In addition, a total of 470 patients are hospitalised in the province. Forty are in ICU, 158 are on oxygen, 30 are in high care, and 31 are ventilated.

The North West further recorded 11 Covid-19-related fatalities, bringing the total death toll to 59.

Rustenburg: 12

JB Marks: 11

Madibeng: 3

Mahikeng: 3

Ditsobotla: 3

Maquassi Hills: 2

Moses Kotane: 2

Naledi: 2

Kgetleng: 1

Total: 59

The sub-district distribution of deaths is based on the patients' physical addresses, not their place of death.
