Some scientists and doctors in the pivotal Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC) on Covid-19 are disappointed with the recent handling of the virus.
They say more credence has been given to politics as elections loom.
"Politics is starting to manage how we are running the pandemic. Political alliances and the fear of being on the wrong side of different groups is now governing us, instead of the Disaster Management Act. Quite a lot of scientists and doctors are disillusioned because our laws are being announced, but not implemented or enforced," a senior insider in the MAC told News24 on Tuesday.
