DA asks UN for help with Eastern Cape drought crisis, accuses govt of incompetence

The DA in the Eastern Cape has written to the UN asking for aid amid the devastating drought that has gripped the western parts of the province for the past six years.

In the letter written to the UN Water chairperson, Gilbert Houngbo, DA Eastern Cape legislature member Retief Odendaal accused the government of ignoring the drought crisis while lacking the expertise to address it.
