The conditions of properties owned and managed by South Africa's High Commission in Namibia are a source of diplomatic embarrassment and have damaged the country's image.

While some properties have been stripped of fittings, taps and electrical wires, others have been illegally occupied and had been illegally connected to water and electricity networks.

These details are contained in the report of the Parliament's Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation following its April visit to conduct oversight on state-owned properties in Namibia.
