The lead investigator appointed by the Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RDM) factory to investigate the cause of a massive blast that killed eight people in 2018 says the replacement of a valve at the N16 facility could not have been the root cause of the explosion.

Roderick Keyser was testifying at the public inquiry into the explosion, which is spearheaded by the Department of Labour.

Keyser said they went through a number of analyses to ascertain the potential cause of the explosion
