Supposed false confessions, dramatics and unexpected hugs - these were the peculiar events heard by the Western Cape High Court when the Meghan Cremer murder trial resumed on Tuesday.

The admissibility of comments made by accused Jeremy Sias the day he pointed out where he disposed of the horse rider and businesswoman's body is being contested in a trial-within-a-trial, with the defence contending the accused made false statements under duress.

Sias admitted he dumped Cremer on a farm in Olieboom Road, Philippi.
