EFF shutdown: Police and private security find an ally in taxi associations

Police and private security found a new ally in taxi associations that helped them keep roads clear during the national shutdown on Monday.

The EFF held a country-wide protest demanding an end to load shedding and calling for President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down. 

Last week the SA National Taxi Council (Santaco) said it would not participate in the protest because it felt the event would cause more harm to the economy than good.
