An East London father has been able to breathe a huge sigh of relief after learning that money that he refused to give his son was intended to be spent at the Enyobeni Tavern where 21 teens died over the weekend.

The father, who cannot be named to protect his 16-year-old son's identity, said he ruined the child's plans by refusing to give him R150.
