A female skull was found in a shallow grave near Glen Ridge on Tuesday and police believe it is linked to body parts that were discovered in a fridge in Protea Glen over the weekend.
"The police have [on Tuesday] afternoon found a human skull buried in a shallow grave next to Glen Ridge, Westonaria Road (R558). The human skull is being linked to the Protea Glen discovery of human limbs in a fridge on Saturday," police spokesperson Brenda Muridili said.
In the Protea Glen case, the victim is a 23-year-old woman from Soshanguve, Pretoria.
A 26-year-old Soweto man was arrested on Saturday in connection with the woman's murder after his partner found the body parts, according to Muridili.
The body parts were sent to the forensic science laboratory, she added.
Flavio Hlabangwane appeared in the Protea Magistrate's Court in connection with the murder on Monday,
He is in custody and is expected to appear in court again on 22 November when he intends to apply for legal aid.
