Johannesburg - A SAPS vehicle has been damaged in a shoot-out with fleeing ATM bombers in Zola, Soweto, police said on Tuesday.
Early on Tuesday morning, police were alerted to an ATM robbery at an Engen garage in Zola north, Captain Kay Makhubela said.
When the police confronted the suspects, a shoot-out occurred, he said.
No one was injured and the suspects managed to get away.
Makhubela said a case of attempted murder, malicious damage to property and ATM bombing had been opened.
