Former national commissioner of correctional services Zach Modise dodged disciplinary action in relation to an irregularly awarded R1.2 billion tender, because he reached retirement age.

This was revealed by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), which was briefing the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services, in investigations relating to the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) on Tuesday.
