The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the Hantam and Kamiesberg municipalities of the Northern Cape and West Coast District of the Western Cape interior.

Heatwave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected over the Cape Metropole and Stellenbosch municipality in the Western Cape until Saturday. 

The weather in your province: 

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm with scattered afternoon showers and thundershower but isolated in the extreme north.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high. 

Morning fog patches over the escarpment are expected in Mpumalanga, otherwise, there will be partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered over the highveld region.

Limpopo will have morning fog patches over the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers in the south.

Partly cloudy and warm weather is expected in the North West, with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The Free State will be cloudy in the far east with morning fog patches, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the western parts.

Partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions are expected for the Northern Cape. It will be very hot in the southwest with isolated thundershowers in the northern interior and the east from the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Morning fog along is expected along the west coast of the Western Cape, otherwise, it will be fine and very hot but warm to hot along the coast. It will become cloudy in the northeast from the afternoon where isolated afternoon thundershowers are expected.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly but light to moderate south-westerly to westerly along the west coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme. 

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy with morning fog patches over parts of the interior. Otherwise, conditions will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong easterly in the afternoon.

Cloudy and cool weather is expected in the eastern half of the Eastern Cape with a chance of light rain in places south of the escarpment. Otherwise, conditions will be partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise, the weather will be cloudy and cool but warm in places in the north with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered showers in the west.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly in the north otherwise easterly to north-easterly. 

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
