Cape Town - The fire on the slopes of the Glencairn Expressway was contained on Wednesday evening, the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services said.
Spokesperson Liesl Moodie said the City's fire fighters and those of the Table Mountain National Parks would remain on the scene to deal with the hotspots.
Scores of firefighters had battled the blaze near Stone Haven Estate since earlier on Wednesday morning.
Around 10 fire engines had been deployed to the scene while the City and Table Mountain National Parks helicopters had been deployed to water bomb the areas which were inaccessible to ground crews.
