Hours after National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise apologised to South Africans for Parliament's slow response to state capture, ANC chairperson Gwede Mantashe alleged that the party always had the political will to ensure that Parliament worked and exercised political oversight.

Modise and National Council of Provinces (NCOP) chairperson Amos Masondo appeared before the Zondo commission on Monday, while Mantashe completed his testimony from last week.
