Many women die daily in South Africa – some are killed by the men who are supposed to be their protectors and lovers.
Their bodies are dumped in bushes, mutilated, clothes torn off, burnt beyond recognition, and tossed away like pieces of rubbish.
A staggering 13 000 women were victims of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, 1 277 women were victims of attempted murder, and 989 women were murdered between July and September.
