The national Department of Health and Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC) have come under renewed criticism for their lack of communication on Covid-19 procurement and an effective rollout strategy.

Health and social security expert Professor Alex van den Heever said both the MAC and department have not been open and clear with the public about vaccine procurement and rollout.

"It's insane that we have to beg for information," said Professor Francois Venter, the director of Ezintsha which is a sub-division of the Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute.
