A car spotted with no number plates led to the breakthrough in the search for then missing Meghan Cremer, when three officers on crime prevention patrols pulled over a white Toyota Auris at 20:00 on Monday, 5 August 2019.

Sergeant Taswill Flink testified in the Western Cape High Court on Thursday that he had noticed the vehicle at the corner of Schaapkraal and Olieboom Roads in Philippi, while driving through the farmlands, two days after Cremer was last seen.

He turned on his blue light and siren, and pulled over the car.
