Judge Brenda Neukircher, presiding over AfriForum’s application for an urgent interdict to prevent the government from making a planned R50-million donation to Cuba, warned the lobby group that its case for the interdict was not convincing and may be premature.
During the presentation of arguments in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Thursday, Neukircher warned AfriForum's legal representative advocate Johan Hamman that the applicants were misreading communication provided to them by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) and National Treasury.
