Cape Town - Officers tracked down a gang of suspected thieves just three hours after a jewellery store was robbed in Mitchells Plain on Tuesday.
Armed men entered the store in a shopping mall at 12:46, Western Cape police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said on Wednesday.
She said two men smashed the cabinets and took an unknown amount of jewellery before fleeing.
Police officers immediately obtained video footage from the security control room and broadcast the registration number of the getaway vehicle.
At 16:04, police arrested four men. They also confiscated the vehicle and certain exhibits.
The group would appear in court once charged.
