Murdered 22-year-old tried desperately to escape alleged abusive relationship.
On the day she died, Karabo Mokoena’s ex-boyfriend, Sandile Mantsoe, called her to his luxury apartment in the posh Sandton Skye apartment block to “sort out” their differences.
Karabo, who had broken up with Mantsoe the previous month after allegedly being viciously beaten, agreed. She called a taxi to take her from her parents’ home in Diepkloof, Soweto – where she had moved to after the break-up – to his apartment.
