Legal practitioners have weighed in on the controversial racial comments made by Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe, with some calling for an investigation into his statements.
Hlophe contended "white colonisers" continued to own the majority of South Africa's land and suggested the only way to get it back from "thieves" was through nationalisation.
"I'm not advocating that farmers must be killed, no. I'm not advocating violence, I'm a farmer myself. Hlophe told a Black Lawyers Association event in Durban last weekend.
