Former Gauteng ANC chairperson David Makhura says he is aware that he may not finish his term as premier after his decision not to run for re-election at the party’s provincial conference.
Makhura stressed the need for his term as Gauteng premier to end as planned in 2024, but a cabinet reshuffle with him removed from the position is not an unlikely possibility in the ANC.
Makhura repeatedly told delegates that he had made it clear to the previous provincial executive committee (PEC) that he had a lot of work left in the province.
