A matric pupil has been found dead at a Limpopo high school while attending a weekend study camp.
The 20-year-old's body was found with multiple stab wounds behind one of the blocks at Ben Hlogwane Secondary School, in the Mahwelereng area on Sunday morning, said police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.

He has been identified as Phillimon Mkomo from Tshamahansi village.
According to Ledwaba, he was part of a group of pupils attending a camp with extra classes in preparation for their exams.
"He reportedly [snuck out on] Saturday, and… the guardians at school were looking for him but could not find him," Ledwaba added.

Ledwaba said an assessment of the scene where Mkomo was found "pointed to the possibility that the victim might have been stabbed somewhere else and thereafter ran towards the school", before collapsing behind one of the buildings.
Limpopo police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the incident and appealed to residents with information to come forward and assist the police in tracking down the killers.
