Nearly 10 000 teenage deliveries recorded in Tshwane in the last three years

In the last three years, the City of Tshwane recorded nearly 10 000 teenage deliveries, which shows a failure in the comprehensive sexual education programme.

This is according to child protection and development specialist Luke Lamprecht, who is also the head of advocacy at Women and Men Against Child Abuse.

In a statement on Monday, Tshwane's MMC for Health, Riana Marx, said she was concerned by the high teenage pregnancy rate in the capital city.
