A coalition government is not equal to a good government, News24's Out of Order Index has shown as the two of the three best-run metros are not governed by coalitions, and only one local municipality in the top 10 had a coalition government.

Furthermore, it is clear the unstable coalitions and mid-term administration changes are not good for governance.

With municipal elections on the horizon, talks about coalitions after 1 November are heating up.
